Name Tags for Schools
From the very first day of school until the last, new students arrive to the classroom. According to the size of the class, it can be very difficult for a teacher to remember the name of each student he or she has in her class. Using name tags in schools gives teachers a break, if they forget the name of certain student, they can just glance at their name tag. This also rids the teacher of any embarrassment he or she may feel when they forget a name.
In larger schools, teachers certainly are not expected to know the names of students that are not in their classroom, however, during times when the entire school body is together for assembly or other school functions, name tags can be a real savior. When a child is misbehaving, being disruptive, or not listening a teacher will be able to speak to the child directly, which will at least get the child’s attention quicker.
Name tags in school can also be used for recognition of various jobs well done. It can be nothing more than a sticker placed on the name tag for all kinds of accomplishments. Examples could be “helper of the day”, “hall monitor”, or “honor roll”. Of course, the stickers would need to be age appropriate. Middle school students might prefer nothing on their name tag besides their name.
For younger students in the kindergarten through third grade name tags will give them pride in knowing they belong to a group. Beginning years in school are very important for children to learn they are independent of the group while belonging at the same time, name tags can help along these lines.
Not only are name tags great for teachers to remember the names of their students but for students to learn the name of new students that enter the school. No one wants to be called “hey, you”, “new kid”, or totally ignored because no one can remember their name.
Using name tags at school is a great way to keep everything running smoothly while instilling the pride of belonging to a group.
