Stamps... a tool for teachers.
Being a teacher is one of the most important jobs there is. They are entrusted with our children to teach and nurture them, and help them grow into successful, positive, self sufficient and happy adults. A teacher uses many tools to make connections with students and to help them learn. A great, sometimes underutilized tool, is the rubber stamp.
Positive reinforcement can be a great motivator. The thrill and pride upon seeing a good grade reflected in the teacher’s handwriting can be recalled even into adulthood. With lots of students and even more papers to grade, a rubber stamp can make the process of positive reinforcement a little easier for the busy teacher. Stamps can include words of praise and decorations to make it even more fun for the student. Some examples:
Even on work that is less than stellar, rubber stamps can serve the important function of encouragement. Stamps such as "TRY HARDER, MUCH IMPROVED, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK" can make an impact on students without creating too much work for the teacher (who already works plenty hard).
Other uses of rubber stamps in the classroom include stamps for behavior that can be used to stamp on the day’s log or homework sheets. Such stamps could say “Great day” or “Good listening” or "shhh…chatterbox". Stamps are also a great way to communicate reminders to parents. For example, if pizza day is coming up, teachers could use a stamp that says "Pizza Day tomorrow." Or, if there’s a field trip coming up, teachers can use a field trip stamp.
The possibilities are endless. The great thing about rubber stamps is that a teacher can customize them any way he or she wants, to make them unique to his or her classroom and students. That gets an A+ from us!
